My girls and I have been busy this week canning pears. We were blessed by a lady I met on the Freecycle Network who has 2 pear trees in her yard. All she asked was that we leave the damaged pears on the ground for the Deer that frequent her yard. We love pears and were so thankful to get them. We had a total of 29 quarts.
The thing on the right that appears to be a torture devise is acually an Apple Peeler, Corer, Slicer. It can also be used just to peel if you lay the coring/slicing blade down. This little blessing helped us to get the pears done a lot quicker !My girls really worked hard on these pears and we will all reap the benefits this Fall and Winter.

Those look yummy. Maybe we can store a couple of jars in "Goldie" for snackin' on while we work???
